2. What data we process
When you sign up via GitHub or Google OAuth, we receive:
- Name (as configured in your connected account)
- Email address
- Profile picture (if available)
- A unique user ID from the respective provider
Content you create yourself:
- Username (publicly visible in your profile URL)
- Answers to questions and dilemmas
- Your profile visibility settings
Technical data on site access:
- IP address (anonymized, used for abuse prevention)
- Timestamp of access
3. Legal basis
Processing is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR (performance of contract — providing the service) and Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in a functional and secure service).
4. Who processes your data (processors)
- Supabase Inc. (authentication and database, EU region)
- Vercel Inc. (hosting)
- GitHub Inc. / Google LLC (only during OAuth login)
Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) are in place with Supabase and Vercel. Any transfer to third countries takes place only on the basis of the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. Public profiles
Profiles are private by default. When you make your profile public, your username and answers become visible to anyone on the internet at your public URL (answeredonce.com/username). You can change visibility at any time in your settings.
6. Retention period
Your data is stored for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, all personal data is deleted, except where legal retention obligations apply.
7. Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:

8. No sale of data, no advertising
We do not sell user data. We do not share data with advertisers, recruiters, or other third parties, except as described in section 4 or where legally required.
9. International users
AnsweredOnce is operated from Germany and governed by German and EU law. The service is available globally. If you access it from outside the EU, please note that your data will be processed in the EU.
10. Changes
This privacy policy may be updated when the service changes. The current version is always available at answeredonce.com/privacy.
